I’m sorry, but

PINUP IS NOT PORN!

I don’t care if you’re a man or a woman, but if you claim pinup is porn then you should think it over.

A woman who chooses to take pictures in retro lingerie and maybe show a little ass is not porn. Cleavage is not porn. Nudity is not porn.

If you can’t see a woman in these kind of pictures without thinking it is porn, then you have a issue. Pinup is just not only about looking cute and innocent like a 12-year-old its also about every woman doing pinup loving the bodies they are in. Pinups comes in every shape and size and ALL pinups do this to prove that body positivism is a good thing. NONE do this because it is «porn».

And there is also more than one way to do pinup. Retro pinup and modern pinup, where retro pinups are true to the way it was done back in the ’40s/’50s (and some choose to not get a tattoo/piercing or color their hair in a «crazy» color») and modern pinup that is inspired by the golden days but can have a modern twist (i.e tattoo, piercing, «crazy» colored hair, a bit more nudity).

Still its not porn. If you ever come across pictures with a woman with a dildo up her p***y, then its porn. Even if its tagged with «pinup» in any way.

Even if you get aroused by seeing pinup pictures it doesn’t make it porn. One difference between porn and pinup is than people doing porn usually get paid. A pinup seldom get paid to do shoots. Pinup is a hobby, not a paid job. Pinups work hard to be seen, porn actors not so much. They get thousands of followers on social media overnight. They get money for what they do. People pay to be members of websites, pay to see videos/pictures and some pay to get merch porn actors might have.

What Wikipedia says about porn: Pornography (often abbreviated as «porn» or «porno» in informal usage) is the portrayal of sexual subject matter for the purpose of sexual arousal. Pornography may be presented in a variety of media, including books, magazines, postcards, photographs, sculpture, drawing, painting, animation, sound recording, film, video, and video games. The term applies to the depiction of the act rather than the act itself, and so does not include live exhibitions like sex shows and striptease. The primary subjects of pornographic depictions are pornographic models, who pose for still photographs, and pornographic actors or porn stars, who perform in pornographic films. If dramatic skills are not involved, a performer in a porn film may also be called a model.

I could post a pornographic picture and a pinup picture to compare, but you can do that yourself. I could write a whole new post about the differences in how you take a porn picture and how you take a pinup picture. There is quite a few differences, actually. If you don’t know that and still call pinup for «porn», well, then both pinup and porn is not for you. If you can’t handle people having a body and using it however they like, then this world must be a tough place.

Even though I argue than pinup is not porn, I don’t judge people doing porn. Its a one way road for many choosing it, but still. If a person wants to do porn and can make a living on it, I’m not telling them they are bad persons. I will never do it, but it doesn’t make it wrong that others do. If you don’t like it, don’t watch it. If you don’t like pinup, don’t watch it. If you think pinup is too sexual, I think you have a problem with women and their courage to embrace their own bodies. But please don’t call women doing it for «porn models» because THEY ARE NOT. And its not ok for you as a man to send pics of your stillborn rabbit just because you get turned on by a pinup picture. Its not ok to harass, stalk or be nasty towards ANYONE that post pictures of themselves online. Not even porn stars.

Just think it over one more time. Is pinup REALLY porn? Is it ok to say that just because there is skin showing? Have you ever seen Bettie Page’s pictures where she is butt naked? Those are NOT considered porn. Try to educate yourself on what pinup is, what it stands for. Try to see the bigger picture. I just get tired of people being judgmental and looking down on pinups, because it sends a message that women shouldn’t be comfortable in the skin their in. They shouldn’t have self esteem or stand out in any way. We are only good looking when all our clothes are on, covering everything that might arouse a man and smiling like we’re in a tooth paste commercial.

To every pinup out there, don’t let anyone get you down with their narrow minded opinions! Keep on loving yourself for what you are, the world needs it!
